About 1% for the Planet

Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet is a global organisation that exists to ensure our planet and future generations thrive. It inspires businesses and individuals to support environmental nonprofits through membership and everyday actions. It makes environmental giving easy and effective through partnership advising, impact storytelling and third-party certification.

Business members and individual members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to approved nonprofit partners to date. Today, 1% for the Planet’s global network consists of thousands of businesses, individuals and environmental nonprofits working toward a better future for all.

The Extreme store is proud to be a member of this vital global initiative.

Manufacturing

Our t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets & joggers are all made with 100% organic cotton and recycled materials.

Our garments exclusively use 100% GOTS certified organic cotton from India, recycled polyester from China and other sustainable materials such as Modal®.

Our garment supply chain is certified by various independent bodies and standards. Each of these certifications demonstrate that we are working towards building healthy environmental practices and greater respect for the planet, every step of the way.

All our partner garment factories are equipped with state-of-the art Effluent Treatment Plants which remove toxic elements from the water and ensure it’s safe to be reused.

Finishing

We small batch finish all of our products to avoid any dead stock.

Our UK garment factory is SMETA and Fast Forward Accredited, ensuring the highest ethical production standards are met.

We print using certificated water based inks that cover and hold, but do not damage the environment.

We do not release any damaging waste into the sewers and responsibly recycle all materials used.

We package products in recycled material that do not contain PVC.

We treat our people and our planet with respect.
